| Quicker Than The Eye |
A rocking introduction to the musical that shows a modeling session at which Norman is taking shots of Dorian. It introduces the theme that runs throughout the story: "Beauty to its beholder will never really die/As time passes him by/Quicker than the eye." |
| This Picture This Portrait |
A show tune duet by Norman and Rhonda where they explore the picture that Norman has taken. While Norman sees the timeless beauty in the photo that should never be exploited commercially, Rhonda sees it as his "ticket to fame." Norman wins the round and gives the photo as a gift to Dorian, who is absolutely mesmerized by it. |
| The Cruelest Joke |
A rock solo by Dorian, who sings about what a cruel joke it is to have a picture that never changes, while he himself will get old and die. In the song, he longs to change places with the photo so it gets old, while he never will. |
| Are You The One? |
An strikingly beautiful love duet between Dorian and Rose. If it were done commercially with two name stars, it would be a #1 hit. |
| Under My Wing |
A show tune duet between Rhonda and Dorian where she signs him up to become a model and agrees to become his confidant and mentor. |
| This Is It |
A very catchy, up tempo rock song where Dorian makes his first splash as a model in a fashion show and loves it. When it's produced, it will be one of the highlights, featuring a high-energy cast of dancers. It has Paula Abdul or Debbie Allen written all over it and would make a fave MTV rock video. |
| Muse |
Muse is a great song -- one that many will consider one of their two or three favorites. In the story, Norman, Dorian, Rose and Rhonda all sing about how they need a muse to guide them in a song that moves so lightly that it almost floats through your ears. It's one of several tunes that by itself is worth the price of admission. |
| The Future Starts Today |
A strong love song sung by Rose about how her future with Dorian is beginning. It's the first of two that will make almost any young actress love to play Rose in the musical. |
| Immortal |
A stunning rock song in which Dorian discovers his immortality by conversing with his photo. It's a very powerful finish to Act 1 that should bring down the house when it gets produced. |
| The Right Look |
Another high-tempo show tune that will be produced as a dance extravaganza. It sets the stage for Dorian's life as a demi-god by showing him as an international star who always happens to be at the right place at the right time. |
| >The Love That Will Not Come Again |
A hauntingly-beautiful love song duet by Rose and Norman, who both sing of their love for Dorian. While you may suspect that Norman is gay, this song makes it clear, although the issue of homosexuality really isn't explored in the musical. Norman primarily represents the force of spiritual love that Dorian has a chance to embrace. |
| Who Are You |
A rock song battle between Dorian and Rose that signals their breakup. The song has a hard edge and represents the first clash as the musical starts to spiral towards darkness. |
| A Picture of Him |
This is the second strong solo by Rose as she songs of her bitter disappointment in losing Dorian, but also of her resolve to keep Dorian's child at the center of her life. This is yet another in a series of powerful, yet sensitive songs. |
| I Am The Mirror |
If any song can make claim to being the signature song of the performance, this one is it. It has an absolutely electric beginning as Dorian sees that his portrait has changed into a hardness he's never seen, and then builds to a terrific climax as Dorian vows to make it all right again. |
| Can't Get Away |
This song is a battle for Dorian's soul between Rhonda and Norman. It has a haunting quality about it, although it builds from an introspective beginning into a powerful conclusion. Think of this one as a terrific show tune with strong rock leanings. |
| Prayer |
These are the only lyrics not written by Steve Mayoff. They come from a poem by Oscar Wilde entitled The Ballad of Reading Gaol. The song itself has the tone of a funeral dirge and takes place while Rose is in labor and gives birth to a stillborn baby. |
| Whisper From The Grave |
This one is a powerful song that brings out the emotions of grief in everyone, especially Dorian. It has a chilling impact as Rose commits suicide and Dorian realizes that he has lost his true love. At the end, Dorian fall into the depths of despair and vows to cure his grief through indulging his passions. |
| Vice Is Right |
A rap song that has some of the best lyrics in the show. It is a great introduction to the final act. Captures the image of Dorian falling into total degradation. |
| >The Real You |
A love song to Dorian sang by Norman. It's one more of the strong love songs in the show. |
| The Cruelest Joke (reprise) |
A hard-edged version of the Cruelest Joke from Act 1. |
| Secret of Your Life |
A mesmerizing, haunting song about the secrets of life. It's a duet sung by Dorian and Rhonda that will be many people's favorite song. Another one worth the price of admission by itself. |
| This Picture This Portrait (reprise) |
One of the two final songs that weaves the themes from multiple songs together as the story reaches its conclusion. In this song, Dorian has a final encounter in which he strangles Norman. |
| Quicker Than The Eye (finale) |
The finale in which Dorian fights for his own soul and wins by destroying his photo. It's a dramatic, powerful conclusion to the musical. |
